Photography outing to an arboretum...

I met with my Picture This meet up group at The Chesapeake Arboretum. There were a few flowers but this is certainly not their peak season. This was one time where I had to be REALLY creative. I had a really hard time, although I tend to be creative, but this was tough for me. I met some very nice people and other than thinking I killed my camera (Thanks Meghan for coming to my rescue) it was a good experience. My pictures don't impress me but....this is not my thing, so I am learning to step out of the box. I love color so being that there really wasn't much, that posed a hurdle but, I stumbled across it. I DID learn, which is ultimately the point and I am glad I went. I look forward to more outings. My pictures are unedited.

Today's photoshoot...

I went with Meghan today to take pictures of a 3 week old baby. She was so tiny and so beautiful. When we got there we were a little disappointed in the lighting in the house but got creative and made do! Meghan got some fabulous shots. I can not wait to see how they all turn out, out of camera. I did not take any pictures but assisted in using the reflector, holding backdrops, placing baby, etc... It was fun! I learned a lot and look forward to another shoot. Can't wait for another learning experience!!!

YEAH a possible shoot!

My girlfriend Meghan just called - she has a photography business called Justice Photography - and wants me to accompany her on a photoshoot Sunday morning. She is taking pictures of a 3 week old baby! What fun times. Afterwards she wants me to take head shots of her down at the ocean front! I am really excited! I am a little sad to miss church but maybe we will go Sunday night. I am so excited for another learning opportunity!!! Whoopy for me and my 40D, we got a date, cant be late HEY!!!

Today we had a First birthday party to go to. I was really excited to have the opportunity to take some pictures of something other than the back of Sullivan's head! Another friend of mine was going to be shooting too. Both of us beginners, just wanting to learn. Well, I had so much fun until I got home and uploaded the pix! I am so disappointed in the pictures I took. I got a bit confused when I found out my ISO was too high from a photographer friend. So when I turned it down....I was lost. Why? I don't know. I seems as if either I do not know how to focus my camera OR my shutter speed was way too slow. I shot in AV mode which helps me out with exposure but still have a bunch of not so good pix! Hum....I have a lot of learning to do. Out of the 291 pictures I took I like about 12. Here are a few of the ones I like!
