Whats in a name???

So....I have been contemplating the whens and hows of opening my own photography business. I will have to get more organized to do so but...with all I am learning so fast I think I can do it. My plan is to be 100% ready when I actually open. That means I HAVE to start brainstorming. I need a name. A business name that can travel with me, that is me, that sounds professional yet whimsical and cute, that tells a story of what I do, that is not cheesy, something that is unique and fun. I have heard that using your name is best however my name is none of that. Allison Curti Photography It just doesn't do it for me. Hum..... I love my friends name of her business. Lollipops and Slingshots. It sounds like exactly what she does. I also love Barefoot Photography. So, I guess I should tell a little bit about my ideas of a business. I want to take pictures of children of all ages. I think I am interested in senior class pictures as well. I also want to shoot family portraits and maybe dabble in some events. I love classic pictures and some of the more trendy stuff as well. I want to mostly use natural lighting and shoot mostly outdoors. Right now I am growing as a photographer and learning so very fast. I have business ideas but....I have no name. I am clueless on this one. Any ideas from the peanut gallery???

  1. Haha! I got my inspiration from Christy. My name will be "A Mirror with Memory" - I love it! I also like alliteration... so something that flows with As or Cs...

For instance... "Allison's Art" or "The Curti Canvas"

Hope this helps and let us know what you decide :) Isn't it SOOO exciting???

  2. A.C. Photography isn't as much of a mouthful, but not cutesie like Lollipops and Slingshots... A cutesie name might not be great for formal events/senior pics, etc though.... Good luck brainstorming! Sorry I contributed the boring option, hahaha :P

  3. I will start thinking for you.. Alli, I know that the name you want is just under your nose and it will not be long before you find it. ;o) I am like you my name doesn't flow.. I did however ponder my kids middle names as my business name so, that might be a thought.. I will get back to ya.. ;o))
